KALISASI: MWINGI BOY TOPS AT ALLIANCE HIGH

Michael Mumo   At only 17 years, Michael Mwendwa Mumo is shattering the academic glass ceiling. The young Michael, who hails from Kalisasi village in Mwingi Central is the son to Dr. Evans Mumo who is serving as Medical Superintendent at Mwingi Level IV hospital Michael sat his KCSE exams at the prestigious Alliance High School which he joined by merit four years ago after scoring 433 marks out of a possible 500 at Star Sheikh Academy in Machakos County When the KCSE results were announced on Friday, Mwendwa had scored a clean A, and straight As in all the 8 subjects including German. Michael with his mum Dr. Virginia Mumo   Yet Michael's was not an ordinary A. Of the 72 straight As at The Alliance, 5 were for 84 out of 84 points. MoU: Under Governor Malombe Kitui inches Towards Water Security

  Governor Malombe with water PS Ronoh show the signed MoU Our Reporter   Water Principal Secretary (PS) Kiprono Ronoh and Kitui governor Julius Malombe have signed a Memorundum of Understanding (MoU) to ensure completion of critical water projects across the county.  This initiative is meant to alleviate biting water shortage in the county.  Speaking today (Friday) while on a tour of various water projects in Kitui county, the PS said that his ministry will partner with the county government for water provision for both domestic use and food production.  Sound water master plan   The PS lauded the county government under Dr. Malombe for its sound water master plan which, when implemented will make the county water secure. Ronoh said that so far, his ministry has identified water projects to be implemented in Kitui county to address the water insecurity.  In particular, the PS noted that Masinga - Kitui water pipeline will be upgraded to boost its water provision capacity.
