Video: Former CJ Willy Mutunga Praises Malombe For Stellar Performance

Retired Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga has praised Kitui’s pioneer governor Dr Julius Malombe for the good development work and service delivery to Kitui people which the pioneer governor offered when he was at the helm of county leadership.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV last night, Dr Mutunga who comes from Kitui county singled out Dr Malombe, saying he was one of the few governors who are credited with good track record in initiating life changing projects in their counties.

The former CJ noted that Dr Malombe initiated signature projects that are dotted across all the villages in the county, while ensuring prudent and accountable use of public funds.

“…when I go to Kitui I find things that  happened...things that were giving us trouble  in the past. Construction of bridges and the like... It is a question of how public resources are properly managed and our first governor Dr Malombe did a great job of that,” Mutunga said, in clear approval and endorsement of Malombe’s people driven candidature.

Dr Willy Mutunga, like a majority of Kitui residents is a testament to what the pioneer governor did in changing the lives of the residents. Dr Malombe is credited with investing heavily in heath-care provision where hospital facilities were stocked with requisite drugs and motivated personnel. Some hospitals were also started from a scratch to completion.

Again, Dr Malombe’s administration invested in water provision across the entire county, with water pans, earth dams and boreholes dotting every corner.

Grading of access roads was a routine affair while great efforts were made in agricultural productivity and food security.

Dr Malombe also believed in motivated workforce, and this explains why he made deliberate efforts to have the county government workers paid before 30th of every month.

These are some of the gains that have been washed down by the merciless mbee nzei regime which is choking Kitui residents with looting and vanity talk. 

Good news is that the voters have prevailed on Dr Malombe to run again and have promised to rally behind him in order to rescue the county. The pioneer governor has heeded to the people’s voice which is a resounding Kava Malombe.
