New Dawn As Ministers, COs Get Into Office

Stephen Mbaya, CEC Agri & Livestock   Our Reporter   All 10 County Executive Committee Members also called County Ministers have been sworn into office. Governor Malombe has also appointed into office 22 Chief Officers during a ceremony presided over by Kitui Resident Magistrate Justine Asiago.  The oath taking happened even as the Governor awaits the conclusion of a court case to appoint the Four remaining Chief Officers after a matter filed by 4 Ngilu COs is dispensed with.  The swearing ceremony and the signing of the code of conduct and integrity was presided over by Magistrate Asiago in an event witnessed by the Governor alongside the County Commissioner Erastus Mbili, Speaker Kinengo Katisya, MCAs, members of the clergy and hundreds of Kitui residents who thronged the venue.  THE Governor noted that the new team will help him in repositioning the County on the path of development and growth to realize the expectations of the electorate .  Governor Malombe expressed confidenc

Full Cabinet As Mrs. Titus is Approved

Our Reporter   The Assembly Tuesday morning unanimously adopted the report by the Committee on Appointments to approve Mrs. Joyce Titus as the CECM for Education, Training, and Skills Development.  The approval brings to an end an impasse that has lasted in the assembly for a couple of days after the nominee's name was controversially dropped from a list of 10 names presented by the Governor.  This Desk reliably learnt that the initial dropping of her name emanated from a mix up of her names and had nothing to do with her qualifications or competence in the docket she is nominated for.  Mrs. Titus who comes from Lower Kitui East was vetted by the Committee on Appointments on 30th January 2023 after successfully reorganizing her names in line with legal requirements. The Assembly has also approved all the 26 CO nominees as presented to the House by Governor Malombe.  The Governor will now swear in 10 of his CECs and the 26 COs who are set to hit the ground running in helping him r

Kamunda John, CO for Governor's Delivery Unit   Our Reporter   The County Assembly of Kitui Tuesday afternoon approved all the 26 Chief Officers submitted to the Assembly by Governor Dr.Julius Malombe. The chief officers were vetted on the 30th and 31st of January 2023 by various sectoral committees of the County Assembly of Kitui.
