Kitui county residents have won again under the leadership of Dr. Julius Malombe.

For a second time in under 6 months since he came into office on a popular vote, Governor Malombe has yet again flagged off a consignment of drugs that will be distributed to all the county facilities across the county.

The drugs and non pharmaceutical commodities flagged off today are worthy Ksh81.5 million.

The governor promised that more drugs will be procured and added that during his tenure, all the county health facilities will be functional.

Governor Malombe also promised that he is committed to upgrade Mwingi and Kitui Level IV hospitals to teaching and referral hospitals, which means the facilities will be able to offer more specialized treatment to patients. Nzamba Kitonga Memorial Hospital in Kitui East will also be established, he said.

At the same time, the governor promised that Mobile Clinics which are equivalent to level IV hospitals will also be revamped to also offer healthcare services to the locals.

Dr. Malombe urged the healthcare workers to ensure that drugs do not disappear from the health facilities.

"Please, let us commit ourselves to serve the people of Kitui. We don't want to hear cases of drugs disappearing from health facilities. Let all the commodities be utilized for the intended purpose" the governor cautioned.

He noted that his administration will partner with the County Assembly to ensure the county prospers.
