Kitui Agricultural Show & Trade Fair Has Opened Its Doors Today

Asali  Our Reporter   5th Edition of Kitui Agricultural Show & Trade Fair's has opened its doors.  A three day Agricultural Bonanza has opened its doors to the public today at Ithookwe Showground. The event will run all the way to Saturday where farmers will showcase their best farming practices both in farm products and livestock. The Agricultural Show is running under the theme; Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security and Economic Growth.  The fete is one of the key initiatives of Governor Julius Malombe's administration which has initiated strategic steps to lead the county residents through efforts towards food security. The County Government, through the County Minister for Agriculture Stephen Mbaya has urged the county residents to adopt climate smart agricultural activities as a way of beating the effects of climate change which has resulted in depressed rains in Arid and Semi Arid Lands, thus food insecur

Governor Malombe speaks at Mwingi hospital  Our Reporter   Governor Julius Malombe (EGH) has called on leaders to cease promoting blatant lies, propaganda and biased information in their desparate bid to win public sympathy.  While speaking on a tour of Mwingi Hospital the Governor said his administration was focused on service delivery, adding that he will not be distracted by a few disgruntled leaders who wanted to blackmail him while pushing for selfish agenda.  The governor said it was shameful to see leaders making threats and spreading propaganda against health professionals who are highly qualified. He said there was no reverse on the new changes made in the health docket for deployments. Our Reporter   If you know what's good for you, report immediately - Governor Malombe tells deployed health staff  Speaking while officiating the signing of performance contracts by the County Ministers, Governor Malombe stated that his administration will not succumb to armtwisting tactics or cherry picking where some public officers would want to be treated in a special way.  Commenting on the recent deployment of Health Officers, the governor specifically said the following:  ~ There are people who mistakenly think that they cannot be deployed, because they think they are special. 220 Health Officers Transferred, Dr Mumo & others Promoted

By Our Reporter   Dr Evans Mumo promoted after excellent performance as Health Ministry moves 220 health officers Kitui County Ministry of Health and Sanitation has effected transfers and promotions of 220 health officers in bid to streamline the sector for efficient health service delivery. Those posted to new stations include medical doctors, Clinical Officers, nurses, pharmacists, medical engineers, radiographers, dieticians among others. Through a posting order number 1 of 2023 dated 7th July and signed by the three departmental Chief Officers (Dr Musyoka Benson for Medical Services, Dr Lynn Kitwan, for Public Health & Sanitation and Aggrey Kamba in charge of drugs and Medical Supplies), the transfers are to take effect immediately. Governor Julius Malombe, EGH   Our Reporter   Kitui Own Revenue Shoots to 84 percent (%), the highest in Kenya  ~ Kitui County under the leadership of Governor Julius Malombe is currently flying the flag high after emerging tops for improvement of own revenue collections. ~ During the State of Devolution address delivered by the Chairperson of the Council of Governors Anne Waiguru yesterday, Kitui was praised for putting up solid strategies which have resulted in a revenue boost never seen before ~ According to the figures shared by Governor Waiguru, Kitui topped in raising its own  revenue at 84 percent, the highest in the country. ~ The second position went to Kirinyaga County at 80 percent with the third position going to Samburu County at 70 percent. ~ The Governors marked 10 years of devolution yesterday where counties were urged to improve on revenue collection that will boost service delivery at the counties. ~ Governor Malombe, through the current Head of Revenue  Roselyne Muny
