Why Kitui Emerged Second best at Devolution Conference

Our Reporter   Governor Julius Malombe is indeed taking Kitui county to greater heights. Testament to this is how Kitui beat 45 counties to emerge the second best county on Best Exhibition Booth Awards during the just ended  Devolution Conference 2023 that was held at  Eldoret Sports Club, Uasin Gishu County. Nakuru County was declared the overall best booth followed by Kitui County with Kiambu County clinching the second runner-up position. The KITUI's booth attracted none other than president William Ruto who, while admiring products at the booth praised Governor Malombe for his commitment to public service and running a transparent administration.  The nominations were based on Content and Relevance in line with the 8th Devolution Conference's theme, Engagement and Interactivity, Innovation and Creativity, Knowledge and Professionalism of Staff, and Design and Aesthetics. President William Ruto on Wednesday could not contain his smile when he visited an exhibition booth for Kitui county at the ongoing Devolution conference in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.  The president who was hosted at the booth by Governor Julius Malombe was seem smiling from ear to ear as he exchanged hearty words with the governor.  The president congratulated Governor Malombe for great development milestones being realized in Kitui county under his leadership. Governor Malombe hosts president Ruto at Kitui exhibition booth at Eldoret devolution conference Our Reporter   President Ruto commends Governor Malombe at Devolution Fete President William Ruto today (Wednesday) officially opened the Devolution Conference at Eldoret town where he commended Governor Julius Malombe for steering Kitui county to greater heights.  The president visited Kitui exhibition booth at Eldoret Sports Club during the ongoing devolution conference where he commended Governor Malombe for the great milestones Kitui county is achieving unde his leadership.  According to the Council of Governors latest report, Kitui county emerged tops in service delivery at 84 percent followed by Kirinyaga and then Vihiga.  More to follow

Our Reporter   State of Devolution: Kitui leads other counties As the Devolution conference gets underway in Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County, Kitui County under the leadership of Governor Julius Malombe has been cited as the best performing county among the 47 in the country. This is according to the latest report by the Council of Governors that was released by the chairperson Anne Waiguru.  The second performing county according to the unbiased report is Waiguru's Kirinyaga County followed by Vihiga in their position.  This feat has earned Governor Malombe a coveted position and honour in the Devolution Conference where he is expected to receive a standing ovation and a chance to address his colleagues and delegates drawn from across the country. President William Ruto is expected to officially open the conference tomorrow (Wednesday) with his deputy Rigathi Gachagua scheduled to close it on Friday. Malombe's Govt Strikes Partnership to Establish Ksh20M Cancer Centre

Our Reporter   Kitui County government has partnered with Brystol Myers Squibb Foundation and the Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) to put up a Sh20 million cancer treatment centre at Kitui county referral hospital Speaking to the media after meeting the CMMB Country Director Dr James Kisia and the organisation’s county programs manager Jesse Kihuha yesterday, governor Julius Malombe said that the cancer centre will be strategic in offering treatment and palliative care to cancer patients in the county. The governor noted that lack of such a centre in the vast county had occasioned more suffering to county patients who have to travel to Nairobi to access the services. “ The cancer centre is going to boost our healthcare service delivery. Cancer patients will now access treatment locally without going outside the county,” the governor said.
