Why Kitui Emerged Second best at Devolution Conference

Governor Julius Malombe is indeed taking Kitui county to greater heights. Testament to this is how Kitui beat 45 counties to emerge the second best county on Best Exhibition Booth Awards during the just ended  Devolution Conference 2023 that was held at  Eldoret Sports Club, Uasin Gishu County.


Nakuru County was declared the overall best booth followed by Kitui County with Kiambu County clinching the second runner-up position.

The KITUI's booth attracted none other than president William Ruto who, while admiring products at the booth praised Governor Malombe for his commitment to public service and running a transparent administration. 


The nominations were based on Content and Relevance in line with the 8th Devolution Conference's theme, Engagement and Interactivity, Innovation and Creativity, Knowledge and Professionalism of Staff, and Design and Aesthetics.


The Kitui booth was acclaimed following an impressive exhibition of the notable milestones the County has made under the visionary leadership of Governor Malombe.


The booth showcased Kitui's devolution gains in the health, agriculture, trade, education and water sectors, among others, thereby transforming lives of the residents.


And to add the icing to the cake, Kitui county under the leadership of Governor Malombe was again ranked number one in the county in terms of own source revenue collection. 


Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua presided over the official closure of the weeklong devolution exchange, reflection and benchmarking event.


Later in the day, the Governor was joined by an enthusiastic team composed of members of his executive committee among them chief officers and county ministers among other delegates to celebrates the two great milestones.
