Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani has led a massive drive to unlock the drainage system within Kitui municipality to avert flooding and water borne diseases.

The deputy Governor who was in the company of minister Fred Kimanga and Township MCA Daniel Ngoima urged Kitui town residents not to dump solid waste along water ways, saying this will ensure free flow of surface runoff during this rain season.

At the same time, DG Kanani urged the county residents to clear any bushes and stagnant waters around their homesteads which are likely to become breeding grounds for malaria causing mosquitoes 🦟. Similarly he urged residents to consume only treated or boiled water to avoid contracting killer water borne diseases such as cholera.
