4,000 Contractors Graduate Under Empowerment Programme

Governor Malombe (C) presents a certificate to a newly trained contractor  Governor Malombe rolls out an empowerment programme as new contractors graduate Our Reporter   IN one of the top fit empowerment programmes meant to create opportunities for Kitui youth and women while cushioning them from the biting poverty levels in the country, a total 4000 contractors trained by Kitui County Government in partnership with National Construction Authority (NCA) graduated today, (Friday 8th Nov). Also graduating was a select team from Persons Living With Disability and men in the general category.   Governor Julius Malombe who officiated the event held at Kefri grounds said the contractors were now empowered and capacity built to competitively  bid for tenders in the County Government, at the National Government, CDF as well as in other counties.  Governor Malombe noted that the initiative is a great milestone towards the fulfillment of the 16- sector development agenda under his mantra of KITU
