Prompt payments ...

The head of the County Government promised that his administration will undertake prompt payments for those who successfully complete county contracts.

"This will lead to vibrant county economy that will support other economic actors such as mama mbogas and bodaboda industry, saloonists, shopkeepers and others because money will be circulating in the local economy," Dr Malombe said.

The Governor advised the contactors to do quality works guided by integrity and transparency, while at the same time appealing to them to shun corruption and corrupt dealings.

The Governor particularly thanked the County Department for roads led by CECM Eng. Itiko in ensuring success of the programme jointly with other County leadership.

NCA Executive Director Eng. Maurice Akech who had also graced the occasion praised the County Government for taking the lead in ensuring that contractors are equipped with requisite skills to offer quality work that gives value for money. Also in attendance were County Ministers, COs, MCAs among others.

The new crop of contractors has been trained on business company registration processes, skills on integrated financial systems (IFMIS), skills in executing projects from inception to completion, post construction, delivery of quality works as per specifications given by engineers among others.
