Senator Wambua's Proposal Is Timely, Ignore Village Hirelings

Image
Editorial Maybe we should start by asking a rhetorical question. Does the populous and vast Kitui county need to be split into two counties? Even if you were to wake up the dead from the graves, they would answer in the affirmative; YES! And this push for an extra county - to allow for more resources, translating to more development and service delivery - is what senator Enoch Wambua has been pushing for, at the risk of coming out as the only lone voice for the timely idea. Timely because everybody agrees that Kitui is too vast and has the requisite numbers to be split into two counties; Kitui and Mwingi counties. It is out of this passion and the demand by Kitui residents that the visionary senator presented a private member's Bill to the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs with a proposal to have Mwingi County curved out of the larger Kitui county. This move by the Senator which is obviously meant for the good of the people does not happen everyday. This ca

Workers Union: Fresh Air As Dynamic Trio Romps Into Office

Image
The Dynamic Trio As earlier and correctly predicted by Homeland News, the Dynamic Trio of Timothy Mbuvi, Faith Moki and Joel Musemi were elected into office as chairman, secretary and deputy treasurer respectfully.  The three carried favour with county government workers for being vibrant, advanced in thought and being in touch with what issues affect fellow county government workers. The new leadership has brought in a fresh breath of air with majority of the county workers calling on the new leaders to put their (workers') interests first.  " It is a new team..a new beginning. We can only hope for the best. They are up to the task" said one of the county government workers.  Others elected alongside the Dynamic Trio include the ever present Job Ngusu who was elected as Vice Secretary, David Kainda (Vice Chairman) and Moris Thomas (Treasurer) .  Others who carried the day include Winfred Mukiti who got elected as Women Rep while Loice Syombua was elected Deputy Woman Rep

Kitui Workers Get New, Visionary Leadership Tomorrow

Image
Timo, incoming kitui branch chairman As Kitui County Government workers go to the polls tomorrow; Saturday, March 27 to elect their officials, the membership is thirsty for sound, accountable and progressive leadership that is able to fight for and improve the workers' welfare.  While this is true, the workers are also seeking to elect a leadership that is youthful and in touch with reality. A leadership that will stand for integrity.  It is for these reasons that the unionisable workers have, in one accord, decided to elevate 3 of their members to key positions, believing that they perfectly fit the bill.  The top 3 who are said to have carried favour with the members are: Timothy Mbuvi Mwangangi - who is running for Chairman position, Faith Moki gunning for Branch Secretary position and Joel Musemi Mulwa who is eyeing branch assistant treasurer post. Among the workers, the 3 have been described as the dynamic trio and will be tasked with bringing the much needed changes in th

REVEALED: Why Dr Malombe's Popularity Is Sweeping Kitui Like Hurricane

Image
Dr Julius Malombe, admired by all for sound leadership There is no doubt. There is something likeable and admirable about Dr Julius Makau Malombe, the man who set Kitui on a path of real development and firsts that today remain the bottom line in many a people's lips. It is no wonder that an entire Kitui population is calling on and wooing Dr Malombe, the pioneer governor to come back and salvage the county that has been thrown to the dogs by the mbee nzei administration. “ Yes, we demand Dr Malombe to come back. We are determined to go to whatever length and ensure he contests, not only contests but recaptures the seat,” said a voter from Ikutha in Kitui South. And true to this word, a delegation from Kitui south visited Dr Malombe at his Ithiiani home sometimes last year and pleaded with him. If only he could hear their wailing, suffering and respond to the yawning gap of leadership, they pleaded.  Dr Malombe, having carefully weighed his moves as he always does, agr
