Man of his word Our Reporter ~ Governor Julius Malombe has indeed come into office with a new midas touch. As you read this, all the County Government workers have been paid their August salaries, much to the excitement of many who have hailed the move as godsend.  ~ In the past, the county staff under the collapsed Mbee Nzei government used to receive their pay three weeks after the end of every month. ~ Sometimes they would skip months without pay as the former governor and her cartels wallowed in sleaze and impunity. ~ But when governor Malombe took the oath of office at Kitui showgrounds before an expectant crowd, he promised that all the county staff would be paid on time. Below was his promise :  'County Employees: - Ensuring that outstanding salaries and arrears of County Government employees are fully paid and to ensure that staff salaries are paid not later than 30th of every month as was the case during my initial 2013 - 2017 tenure.'  ~ And this has come true.
