In PICTURES: DG Kanani Leads Drive To Unblock Town's Drainages

DG kanani in action  Our photographer   Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani has led a massive drive to unlock the drainage system within Kitui municipality to avert flooding and water borne diseases. The deputy Governor who was in the company of minister Fred Kimanga and Township MCA Daniel Ngoima urged Kitui town residents not to dump solid waste along water ways, saying this will ensure free flow of surface runoff during this rain season. At the same time, DG Kanani urged the county residents to clear any bushes and stagnant waters around their homesteads which are likely to become breeding grounds for malaria causing mosquitoes 🦟. Similarly he urged residents to consume only treated or boiled water to avoid contracting killer water borne diseases such as cholera.  See the Deputy Governor in action during the drainage cleanup exercise.

Campbell Munyambu   Our Reporter   Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been asked to move with speed, mobilize his troops and solidify his political base in readiness to take over presidential power in 2027. The call has been made by Campbell Munyambu , a Mwingi based professional and political commentator who told the press that the stars are now aligned for Kalonzo's presidency. We are Going Digital & Paperless - says Governor Malombe

Governor Malombe with Nicholas Mulila  Our Reporter   The county government in partnership with Safaricom Plc has launched a digital platform that will enable county residents access county government services online. Dubbed myKituiApp , the digital platform which is meant to be a one stop shop will be instrumental in payment of county services such as business permits, parking fees and revenue management systems. The online tool will also come in handy in offering solutions around agriculture, health, utility bills and SME programs.
