Governor Malombe was today among other governors who joined President William Ruto at Uhuru Park in Nairobi where the head of state flagged off Community Health Promoters' kits to the counties.

The kits will be distributed to Community Health Promoters in the counties to boost healthcare services among the rural populations.

About 100,000 CHPs who have already been trained in a collaborative effort between the National Government and the Council of Governors will be unveiled on Mashujaa Day celebrations next month.

Kitui County has 2470 trained Community Health Promoters spread across all the villages.

They act as the link between the community and established health facilities, with one of their key duties being sensitization and education to prevent diseases and keep the populations healthy.

Governor Malombe's administration is keen on preventive healthcare where strategic efforts have been put in place to keep preventable diseases such as malaria, TB, cholera, among others at bay.
