Governor Malombe sends Team to visit Accident Victims in Machakos

Our Reporter  Following the accident that happened at Katangi yesterday claiming the lives of 10 people, Governor Julius Malombe has today dispatched a team of high level officers to visit the injured victims at Machakos level V hospital.  The visiting team in Machakos include CECM for health Ruth Koki who was accompanied by Chief Officer for Medical Services Dr Benson Musyoka and his counterpart Aggrey Kamba. They joined the Machakos county health team led by the CECM for health Dr Daniel Yumbya. The gesture by the Kitui County Government to commiserate with the victims of the grisly road accident has been lauded by County residents. It shows that the county administration cares for its people even when they have been admitted in facilities outside the County. Stop it right there - Kinengo warns Kiio   Our Reporter   Kitui Assembly speaker Kevin Kinengo has sent a warning to senator Kiio Wambua, cautioning him against unnecessarily attacking the County Government led by Governor Julius Malombe. Addressing MCAs in Mutomo Tuesday, Kinengo said it is pretentious for the senator to purport to take the role oversighting the County Government, a role he said is a preserve of the MCAs. " The senator is my friend and I respect him alot but we have to draw the line between friendship and work. He cannot purport to take the work of the MCAs which is to oversight. A key focus of the project is to promote commercial forestry in pilot counties and to strengthen technical support for Melia volkensii, also known as the Mukau tree, which is native to the region. Governor Malombe with Kitui judiciary team on 31st Jan 2024 Our Reporter   Governor Julius Malombe has said that County Governments play a critical role in helping the Judiciary discharge its duties in settling disputes.  Of particular, the Governor termed Alternative Dispute Resolution as a significant milestone in facilitating the Judicial process of settling disputes among different parties. Governor Malombe who spoke during the rollout of the court annexed mediation ceremony at the Kitui Law Courts noted that both the National and County Governments have a duty to cooperate and consult in service delivery because they are inter dependent.  The Governor said that his administration had facilitated the judiciary to establish two more courts at Manyenyoni area where a  two acre piece of land has been donated.. Our Reporter   Kitui County government has commissioned a fully functional hemophilia clinic at the Kitui County Referral Hospital (KCRH) to take care of patients affected by the rare blood disorder. The hemophilia clinic is a partnership between the county government led by governor Julius Malombe and Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation, World Federation of Hemophilia and Kenya Hemophilia Association. The hemophilia clinic at KCRH is poised to become a focal point for individuals affected by this rare blood disorder, providing a range of specialized services including diagnostic facilities, treatment and comprehensive care programs. Making Kitui Food Secure through Irrigation Farming

Our Reporter   In a bid to boost food security in Kitui, the County Government led by Governor Julius Malombe is set to initiate and operationalize 26 irrigation clusters in different Wards across the county in the Financial year 2023/2024.  This was revealed by Water and Irrigation CECM Peter Nkunda who Indicated that only 3,091 hectares out of a possible 11,095 hectares of irrigable land is currently under irrigation. Nkunda cited plans by the County Administration for expansion to 7,800 hectares over the next five years.
